The recent Atlantic Storms, Storm Frank being the most recent have once again shown up the weak and mis-used planning regulations in Ireland. Building on flood plains, exposes homeowners to risk, devalues their property in terms of resale or insureability and shows to what extent profit was placed ahead of the public good. WIth a depe sense of Deja-vu I call on the Governemtn to implement the investigations and regulations drawn up by the Green Party and shelved by the Dept Environment for the past five years.
Give planning back to the people
